Chris Perry, DPS Deputy Director

Chris Perry began his law enforcement career in 1982 as a Trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol in Las Vegas. Moving through the ranks, he worked in various assignments, including urban and rural traffic operations, administrative services, and commercial enforcement. In 2005 Perry was appointed Chief of the Department of Public Safety Training Division where he, and his staff, were responsible for basic academy and in-service training for Department employees.

In 2006, he was appointed Chief of the Highway Patrol Division where he was responsible for statewide operational and administrative oversight of three regional commands and 639 sworn and civilian employees. Chris Perry holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Las Vegas and extensive advanced law enforcement training; including certifications from Northwestern University, the US Department of Justice, and Nevada POST.
