A Carson City man wanted for allegedly
absconding from probation on a child pornography charge was arrested in Canada
and booked into jail in Washington state Wednesday.
Micah Leval, 23, was arrested Tuesday by Canadian border agents near Vancouver,
said Rhonda Pendergraft of the Division of Parole and Probation’s Fugitive
Apprehension Unit.
LeVal pleaded guilty in March to gross misdemeanor conspiracy to use a minor to
produce pornography. He offered the son of a friend $500 to pose nude and
perform sex acts while being taped for the Internet. He was sentenced to 60 days
in jail and given three years probation.
He allegedly then fled the country, said investigators.
It’s not known when Leval will return to Carson City, said Pendergraft.
His older brother Stefan Leval, 26, was arrested in December by border patrol
agents as he re-entered the country from Canada. Stefan Leval had a warrant for
his arrest on charges of lewdness with a child under 14 and statutory sexual
seduction.
A preliminary hearing is set for Stefan Leval on March 16. Lewdness with a child
carries a penalty of 14 years to life in prison.

Report,
A Carson City man who failed to check in
with parole and probation and instead fled to Canada, had his probation revoked
on a charge of conspiracy to use a minor in pornography.
Micah LeVal must serve a suspended sentence of 12 months in jail after being
convicted of the gross misdemeanor charge in July. He was given credit for 47
days in jail.
LeVal, 21, was arrested by Canadian officials near Vancouver, Canada, on an
immigration warrant on Feb. 24. On Feb. 25 officials in Whatcom, Wash., received
LeVal from Canada and held him on the Carson City warrant for probation
violation.
In December 2007, LeVal offered the 12-year-old son of a friend $500 to get
naked and masturbate while LeVal recorded it on his cell phone.
The child told an investigator that LeVal said “he would sell the movie on the
Internet and they would make a lot of money off it.”
Last week, LeVal’s older brother Benedict Stefan LeVal pleaded guilty to one
count of attempted lewdness with a minor for having sex with the 14-year-old
daughter of a friend. Also nabbed by border patrol agents as he re-entered the
country from Canada,
Benedict Stefan LeVal will be sentenced June 1.
The brothers used to run Gardnerville’s Antioch Coffee Company.
