Director's Message

The Department of Public Safety is proud of the quality of service we provide to the citizens of Nevada.

It is essential that all allegations of peace officer misconduct be thoroughly and objectively investigated to assure the public that misconduct will not be tolerated and, at the same time, vindicate officers who have been unjustly accused.

The authority and responsibility of these investigations within the Department of Public Safety are vested in the Divisions Chiefs.

Division Chiefs may defer to Office of Professional Responsibility for investigations involving employees of the Capitol Police, Division of Investigation, Highway Patrol, Parole and Probation, State Fire Marshall and Training Division.
