Q: How
long does it take to complete an
investigation?
A: A
case takes from 30 days to six-months to
complete,
depending on its complexity, the availability of
witnesses
and the involvement of other agencies.
Q: Can
a complainant see the completed case file?
A:
No. Case files are confidential.
The complainant will be
notified in writing of the findings.
Q: What
happens to an employee if he or she is found
to
have acted improperly?
A: Some
cases require disciplinary action such as a
reprimand, suspension or even termination.
Sometimes
training is appropriate. If a crime has
been alleged, the
Office of the Attorney General will determine if
criminal
charges should be filed.
Q: Do I have
any guarantee that I will be satisfied?
A: Although
we cannot guarantee your satisfaction we do
assure that your concerns will be investigated thoroughly,
fairly and objectively.
